The Long Distance Ski Championship

Launch of the Climb bib!

The long distance ski championship, Visma Ski Classics, introduces for the upcoming Season VIII a new Climb competition. The male and female athletes in the Pro Teams will collect points at 8 different climb checkpoints, each at a top of climb position. The current leader in the Climb standing will wear the all new red and black squared "Lumberjack" bib. The female and male athlete finishing the season with the highest climb score will be crowned "Climb champion" and collect prize money at the final gala in Levi, Finland.

- The Climb bib has been requested by the Pro Team athletes for several years, now we feel ready to introduce it. We are sure it will even more increases the excitement over the season and at each event. We have decided to color it with a "Lumber jack"-pattern in order to connect to the traditions of Visma Ski Classics. Normally last season´s winner of a bib carries it at the first races until there is a new leader. Since there has never been a climb bib before we have decided to honour Anders Aukland and Seraina Boner, they will have the bibs at the first races being the leaders in the legends standing. This is the first launch of a new competition for the upcoming season but we have more to come... so stand by! says David Nilsson CEO Visma Ski Classics
