The Long Distance Ski Championship

Event: Marcialonga
Date: 27thJanuary 2019
Distance: 70km
Location: Trentino Italy

“The next stop is not only a well-known event but also the reigning winner of last year´s Event of the Year Trophy, the famous Marcialonga! Marcialonga is not only an event it is a complete Italian journey, giving the 7700 participants both sport and culinary experience that perhaps only Italy can offer. The 70km course starts off from Moena with a long slightly uphill part until Canazei, where it turns around and go downhill for about 40km passing the sprint in Predazzo and the World Championship stadium in Lago di Tesero before turning once again in Molina, where the skiers prepare for the notorious last serpentine uphill the Cascata to the finish line in Cavalese. The event is unique in having the climb points being handed out not to the first athletes to pass a climb line but to the best climb times in the Cascata. For the recreational skiers lucky enough to get over a start bib to this early sold out event, it will for sure give a lifetime experience in close to always beautiful weather! Marcialonga is stage 3 of the Visma Alp Trophy Competition.”

Stand by for Season IX Event 6 being releveled tomorrow at CET 0800!”
