The Long Distance Ski Championship

Event: Vasaloppet
Date: 3rdMarch 2019
Distance: 90km
Location: Sälen-Mora Sweden

“The first Sunday of March it is time for one for the major events in Visma Ski Classics, Vasaloppet. First held in 1922, the race is an institution within cross country skiing, and the winners become immortal. The longest event in the tour is also the biggest with over 16000 skiers on the start line. The energy in the air at the start venue the hour before start is immense. For the Pro Team skiers there are 2 sprints along the way to Mora, the first in Mångsbodarna, the second in Evertsberg, about halfway. New this year is the fact that Event 7 Jizerska is one weekend earlier, giving the Pro Team athletes three weeks to find the right shape and prepare for Vasaloppet, some Pro Teams will most probably prepare on high altitude.”

Stand by for Season IX Event 9 of 12 being releveled tomorrow at CET 0800!”
